Awash in snow, Beaver begins countdown to the last day of the season

Even as a storm dropped more than 30 inches of snow on Beaver Mountain, officials from the northern Utah ski resort announced their intention to close for the season no later than April 3.

"The snow is light and fluffy right now with a few more storms making their way in this week,” said Cindy Allen, the Beaver Mountain office manager. “You better come get it while it lasts.”

In what could be winter’s last big push, a few more inches are expected to fall on The Beav next week, according to the National Weather Service.

Beaver’s base is currently 74 inches, but could reach as much as 80 after the coming storm.

“It’s awesome that we’re gonna be able to finish the season with these conditions,” said Brady Olsen, a season pass holder at Beaver. “I definitely plan on rearranging my schedule to fit in as many days as I can before it closes.”

The end-of-season Beaver Bash is scheduled to take place March 26. Updated information on the mountain can be found at Beavers Home Page.
